I wanted to show you one of the many ways to clean your brushes by using olive oil and antibacterial soap.
I've tried a few ways but I like that the oil nourishes the bristles and the antibacterial soap gets rid of all germs that may be lingering on the brushes that we put on our faces!
(Please forgive the lint on the bottle, oil/soap makes everything stick after a while!)
Get a plate/flat dish and pour equal parts of olive oil and your antibacterial soap.
Grab your first brush and place the bristles in the middle of the solution and start swirling it around. You will notice that the makeup from the brush will immediately start floating in the solution. I press my brushes really into the mixture while swirling to get the core of the brush clean.
Squeeze the brush bristles upward in the sink so that you get all of the excess makeup and mixture out. Face the bristles down toward the sink. Then, you would rinse the bristles with lukewarm to warm water. Make sure you keep the water on the bristles only, sometimes a lot of water build up can loosen your brush handle after a while.
Swirl the brush in the palm of your hand to make sure all of the soap/oil are really getting rinsed off.
Shape your brush bristles and place it on a towel or a rack or whatever method you choose to let your brushes dry!
I hope you liked this post, comment with any questions or to share your own technique!
