What I'm Lovin' Wednesday: Boots Botanics All Bright Collection

Hi friends, it's time for me to share what I've been lovin' and I'm going to share one flop that I wouldn't recommend. The product is not part of the 'All Bright' collection.

Let's get started!
Botanics Cleansing Face Wipes - All Bright

I've tried several, I mean several make up wipes and I think I might have found: THE ONE. The towel is quite large and not too wet. These surprisingly do not sting my eyes and remove all of my make up easily. They also leave my skin soft but I always follow up with cleansing, etc. If you haven't tried these, do yourself a favor and purchase a pack to test out!

Botanics Rosewater Toning Spritz

I have never used rosewater prior to trying this one. I apply it after I cleanse my face, it feels really refreshing. It states that it helps with visibly tightening pores and  removing the last traces of make up. While I don't have large pores, I do like the appearance and texture of my skin after the formula is applied. I shockingly like the scent and I dislike floral scents but this smells fresh and not heavily floral. This is not an All Bright product but I use it after the cleanser.

Botanics Refreshing Eye Roll-On - All Bright

This is the first time that I have used an eye roll-on product and I really love how it feels. You roll this along the bone below your eyes in the morning and night -it's amazing. I need something a little extra due to being a night owl and this really delivers. It actually does what it says and brightens my under eye area. The formula also helps with puffiness and it's beyond easy to roll-on, while gently squeezing the tube. The formula does contain alpha hydroxy acid (AHA), so you would have to put on sunscreen when using the product.

Botanics Cleansing Foam Wash - All Bright

Okay, so I know I just said I loved my Philosophy Purity cleanser a few posts ago BUT this is what I've been reaching for lately to pair with my cleansing system. I don't know what it is but after I use this product, I love how my skin looks and feels. It's a foam wash, so it just glides all over your face and it has a very fresh scent. Overtime, it does help your skin look smoother and brighter.

Botanics Relaxing Body Souffle

This product is not part of the All Bright collection but this would be my flop from the Boots Rebalance line. When I think of relaxing, I think of a nice, soothing or fresh scent. The Botanics Body Souffle has a very strong, perfume-like scent and it's not soothing at all. The directions advise you to apply it after a shower and I just do not feel the scent goes well with the title on this one. If you like heavier scented lotions or body butters, you might like it but it's just not a win for me. I put it on once to test if it moisturizes well and it does.

Let me know if you have tried anything from the Boots line! I linked the site for you throughout the post but I usually get my products at Target.

Benefit: Greetings from Cabana Glama Makeup Kit + Swatches

Hi my pretties! I hope Monday treated you all well.

Benefit Image

I love a great deal and a wonderful makeup kit. I recently found myself using a kit that I received last year, Benefit's Greetings from Cabana Glama, ($36   On sale for $19). I wanted to share this kit because the holidays are right around the corner and you cannot beat the price.

From the Ulta website:

This vacation-ready makeup kit has everything you need for a gorgeous glow all year long. It's the ultimate brightening & bronzing collection!
  • Hoola Bronzing Powder
  • Some Kind-A Gorgeous Medium the foundation faker for medium complexions
  • Posietint Poppy-Pink Tinted Lip & Cheek Stain
  • Eyeshadow Palette: Peach Fuzz, Bronze Buzz and Cocoa Pizzazz
  • Double-Ended Sponge Applicator
  • Mini Cheek Brush
  • Step-By-Step Lesson with Tips & Tricks
  • Remove the makeup tray & save the keepsake box for your little treasures.

  • inside
The only downside that I can foresee is that this is not for all skin tones. The eyeshadows are pigmented with a shimmer finish but nothing too bold.  I really love the Hoola bronzer, it's not orange or muddy. I also like that it's matte and buildable.

I wiped off the stain several times with a makeup remover wipe and check out that stain power! (Looks a tad darker in person):

I would recommend this kit if you know a cosmetics lover that likes neutrals or maybe you're not sure of their preference- this works for that as well! It's a smart way to test some of the brands best sellers without spending the money for the full sized, individual products. I wanted to mention that Some Kind-A Gorgeous can become a little oily, it is super creamy and buttery but if you have oily skin- this may not be for you- it does set powdery and suede-like.

I'm sure this palette is going away soon since it's on sale everywhere, so I would grab one quickly!

How To: Tutorial for Soft, Fuller Lips + Lipstick Application

It's chapped lip + dark lip season, not exactly a match made... Well, I have put together a little tutorial on how I prep and apply my lipstick for the smoothest application. During the process I will let you know how this can assist you with the appearance of fuller lips!

I'll post the step-by-step photos with an explanation below each:

    • I grab my exfoliator, [I'll list all products used at the end of the tutorial. Usually, I moisten my lips a bit because it applies better that way.]
    • In a circular motion, I apply the exfoliator all over my lips.
    • #3 is showing that my lips have been scrubbed.
    • I then continue to rub in and 'heat' up the product using my finger.
    • Take a hand towel and continue to exfoliate further as you are wiping it off.
    • Lightly apply your favorite lip balm (not pictured).
I just want to elaborate a little more as to why I added steps #4 and #5 for you. These steps assist with bringing blood circulation to the lips and help plump them. I skip this step on a regular basis because my lips are naturally fuller. If you have naturally full lips, you can skip these steps and just smack/rub your lips together to ensure all of the dead skin is being removed. This can be done a few times a week for everyone. I tend to have drier lips, so this really helps me a lot. Also, you can use any lip exfoliator.

You can also use a tooth brush, a towel or sometimes I use my cleansing system and I quickly go over them with it. My preferred method is a yummy scrub though!

    • To make sure my lipstick last just a little longer, I pat on translucent powder or any powder that you may have.
    • Take your lip liner and line your lips.
    • Then, I take the lip liner and fill in my lips.
    • I apply the lipstick that closely matches my lip liner.
    • Ta-dahhh! You now have soft, fuller lips and a pretty pout of lipstick!
If you want, you can repeat steps #6-#9 to really create a barrier. I usually just do this once and throw my lip products in my bag for touch ups!

    Products used:

    e.l.f. Lip Exfoliator - clear

Nivea Lip Butter in Raspberry Rose Kiss

MAC Cosmetics Cherry lip pencil and Ruby Woo lipstick

How To: Long-Lasting Makeup (The Bloginista)

Hi everyone! I have another guest blogger that has written about a hot topic. I really hope you enjoy the article like I did. Please go check out her blog when you have a chance.

    Take it away Alexandra!

    How To: Long-Lasting Makeup
    By: Alexandra Kozinski of

I have so many women tell me they put their makeup on in the morning, and by mid-afternoon it looks like they aren’t wearing any. I’ve been there, and I totally get how frustrating that can be! However, once I discovered that all it takes is three simple products to make my makeup last all day, it was a game changer! Most days I leave work around 6pm and my makeup still looks pretty darn fresh (if I do say so myself)! Here’s how:

    1. Prime, prime, prime!
In order to keep foundation and eye shadow looking perfect for hours, they need a proper base. Lately I’ve been using MAC Prep + Prime Natural Radiance underneath my foundation, which not only keeps everything in place, but adds a hint of glowiness to my complexion. On the eyelids, I love using Urban Decay’s Primer Potion – a little goes a long way, and let me tell ythis stuff

        Image via

    2. Use long-wearing formulas.
Believe me, makeup brands understand that often we put our makeup on and need it to last – whether it be throughout the work day, a night out, or for a special event. That’s why almost every brand out there offers a long-wearing formula that is literally built to last. MAKE UP FOR EVER’s Aqua collection was originally created for synchronized swimmers – yes, it’s that good! From lip to eye to brow products, the Aqua line has every smudge-proof beauty item you could possibly need. If you’re looking for a foundation that will last forever, make sure you read the product description online. Most will give you an estimated wear-time so you know what to expect.

    3. Finish & seal. Once you’ve created your face masterpiece, finish it off with a setting spray, which will “lock in” your look. Think of it as hairspray for your face (minus the sticky factor, of course)! Skindinavia is a great brand for setting sprays, and they offer many different formulas for your desired look (matte finish, glowy finish, etc.).

If you’ve been struggling with your makeup lasting all day or night, try incorporating these three steps into your routine. I pretty much guarantee you will be much happier with your results!

Review: Too Faced Tinted Beauty Bomb (March4Forth)

Hi everyone! I wanted to change things up a bit and invite a few lovely ladies to contribute to Beauty Bar Daily. I hope you love what they have to share with you! Here is the first post from Catherine (March4Forth - link below).

    Take it away Catherine!
I jumped on the latest craze to hit the beauty scene - the beauty balm, also known as "BB cream".
Created by a German dermatologist in the early 1960's, popularized in Japan and Korea, and currently making a wave in the Western markets.

Beauty balms have been a hit with many because it promises to replace many of the cosmetics we use on a day to day basis.

My usual beauty routine consisted of purchasing jar after jar of Bare Minerals, a popular line of mineral-based makeup.
And for years, it's worked for me.
But recently , I decided to change my routine, and so I purchased my very first beauty balm from

I picked this one up because I have a bit of dryness and I'm forever in search of a dewy, luminous glow.

This cream is a bit thick and to apply, I put on a little at a time to create more coverage, so it's definitely buildable.
It smells a little like sunscreen but the scent fades away once applied.

    Here's Too Faced description:
    What it is:
A multi-benefit BB cream that tints, primes, nourishes, prevents, and protects skin in one easy step.

    What it does:
This innovative cream offers both makeup and skincare benefits in one effortless step. Achieve better-than-real looking skin today and healthier skin long term by using this antiaging, multi-mineral complex that promotes cell health, strengthens skin's elasticity, and enhances luminosity. This versatile tinted skin perfector instantly delivers oil-free hydration and primes the skin while protecting with a chemical-free SPF 20 UVA/UVB broad-spectrum sunscreen. Wear any of the shades alone or under foundation to achieve your ideal level of luminous coverage.

What else you need to know:
Beauty Balms or B.B. Creams were originally developed as a perfect post-procedure cream used to treat, hydrate, prime, protect, and camouflage the skin. Great for all skin types including those with sensitive skin, these versatile “five-in-one” formulas are designed to do it all: treat with high levels of active skin care ingredients; moisturize and smooth dehydrated skin; prime and perfect skin’s surface; camouflage and color correct the skintone; and protect skin from the sun with SPF. They can be used as a last step for their skincare benefits or used on their own as an instant beautifier.

You might like this if :
You like a Light shimmer on your face
You are okay with light coverage
    You have combination/dry skin
    You prefer glowy/dewy skin
You are looking for a quick and easy routine

    You might dislike this if:
You don't like shimmer on your face
You are prone to oily skin
    You want heavier coverage
    You prefer matte

    Would I repurchase?
Nope. Way too pricey and this formula is not something "out of this world".
Although it did provide a nice glow it kind of feels like I'm
wearing shimmery tinted moisturizer, it covered up a bit but not as much as I would've liked.
But I definitely will be checking out this kit, exclusive to Sephora with an introduction kit of favorite beauty balms samples! I'll continue my search for the perfect balm!
    Hope you enjoyed! xoxo, Cat

Fashion Fridays: Tribal Prints & Cutout Boots

Hi everyone! I am starting something called "Fashion Fridays" and I am very excited to add a little dose of fashion to my blog. I really hope you enjoy this new addition to Beauty Bar Daily!

I wanted to dive into two of many trends, the Tribal/Aztec prints and Cutout boots that you are spotting everywhere! I think to many, this may be an acquired taste but I really like it. The cutout boots are really edgy and fun and I really like the look for Fall. I also like the many choices you see for the tribal/Aztec cardigans, you have your subtle or bold pattern selection.

I really like that you can pair the boots with mostly anything to create an edgy or high fashion look. The outfit pairings are endless and I think the trend will last a while. I also like all of the variety of boots that I'm seeing, there's literally a style for everyone. You can splurge on the boots or you can look for great bargains.

I know the Aztec cardigans are great for Fall but how would you wear the pattern? You have an array of pattern choices on practically every cut of fabric. There are skirts, sweaters, leggings, dresses, etc.! I really think the sweaters can add zest to an otherwise bland outfit or make a lazy day look more put together.

Also, there's muted and bright color pattern choices. The cardigans give off a cozy yet festive feel that I am really liking.

Here's a list of the sweaters and boots from my main photo:

    Sweaters from left to right:
    1. Sophie Aztec Cardigan, $36 -
    2. Carla Aztec Waterfall Jacket, $80 -
    3. Aztec Pattern Cardigan - $40 -
    4. Tamara Tassel Waterfall Cardigan, $40 -
    5. Faye Aztec Print Cardigan, $40 -
( has no idea that I am posting their selection and I have no affiliation with them.)

Cutout Boots from left to right:
    1. Wanted Gatsby Cutout Ankle Boot, $70 -
    2. Wanted Plaza, $55 -
    3. Black Poppy Cutout Boot, $50 -
    4. Topshop 'Arabel' Studded Cutout Boot, $180 -
    5. Hailee, $49.95 -

What I'm Lovin' Wednesday: Batiste Dry Shampoo

Hi everyone! It's "What I'm Lovin' Wednesday" time! I hope you enjoy these segments.
My favorites change quite often, so I like to do a weekly favorite and I may
add more because I have more than one favorite weekly. Please comment
to let me know if you're enjoying these.

Let's get to the product review, shall we?

    1.6fl.oz at $3.99

I tend to purchase what I call "test" sizes for certain products. I like that they have just the right amount of product for me to test drive. I am really loving the Batiste Dry Shampoo, I've used others and this one is my favorite so far.

Before using this product, I used another brand and it just left a horrid white-cast on my hair that was difficult to comb out or fix. With this formula I've noticed if I use it correctly and hold it 30cm from my hair and spray, I really do not have that problem. I would really like to branch out and try the brunette formula.

I would like to mention that I absolutely love their clean & classic 'Original' scent. It's kind of smells like lemon heads, if you are familiar with that candy. It's just a fresh, lemony sweet scent and I'm a huge fan of citrus scents. If you're not keen on citrus scents, they also have others like cherry, etc.

I love the packaging and the ease of the nozzle as well. I've used products that the nozzle gets stuck or just doesn't work correctly and this spray can is a breeze to use. It comes out like a spray and if you hold it too close or use too much, you may see a white-cast in your hair. Hence, I love it but I want to try the brunette formula.

My hair is thick and naturally curly, so this really does what it claims. It fluffs my hair back up and gets rid of excess oil. I can see it really volumizing fine hair and working for everyone. The spray will not make your hair feel sticky, you can barely tell that you put anything in it. I also use it when I flat iron my hair, which is quite often.

    Curly Hair Problems!

Happy Monday!  I hope you all had a great weekend!

I have naturally curly hair and I have gone through product after product trying to tame my mane! The products that I am going to discuss can work for all hair types, so stick around...

So, I have came across so many curly hair myths while trying products for curly hair. One of the major myths is that you must stick to products formulated for curly hair, FALSE! I have thick hair and most of the curly hair formulated products give my hair a tighter curl. I prefer a loose curl to a wave look, so I branched out and tried other products for all hair types and some I read stated they worked best for straight hair.

I was happy with the results that the other products gave me. I had the smooth, loose curl/wave texture that I wanted and my hair didn't feel like straw. Also, any product with a high level of alcohol will make your hair feel hard and just not pleasant. I've learned this the hard way and I have old photos to look back at, I guess that's the fun part!? Most of the products that I have found for other hair types have the smoothing, anti-frizz + humidity ingredients that curly hair needs.

Here's just a few products that I think you should try:
    1. Moroccan Oil Intense Curl Cream  - This is the only curl focused product I would recommend at this time. If you feel that your hair is dry or just in need of a little extra care, I would try this product out. The regular formula is great too, I would apply on damp hair and blow dry with a diffuser.
    2. Fekkai Glossing Cream - The product works really well on my hair. It gives me incredible shine and smoothes down frizz. It also works great if I flat iron my hair as a final touch product.
    3. Paul Mitchell Hot Off the Press - Well, this product is just amazing! I really like that it's a type  of a spray + thermal protectant. It will help with curls or smoothing out with a flatiron. If that's not enough, the formula provides a flexible hold and fights frizz! Obsessed!
    4. Davines Oi/Oil Absolute Beautifying Potion - Is it worth the money, you ask? 100x YES! This is a holy grail hair product. It makes your hair feel amazing and healthy. It will not weigh down your hair, fade your hair color, smells amazing, it's tough on frizz/flyaway strands and adds high gloss shine.
    5. Hask Placenta Pure Shine Polishing Serum - This product would be the least expensive of all 5. That does not mean the quality isn't there, I picked this up at my local Rite-Aid and I really love it. It makes my hair look healthy and shiny if I wear it curly or straight. A little goes a long way and I love the scent. My brother also likes this product, it makes his hair look smooth when he applies it to his damp hair and lets it air dry.
I like so many products but I wanted to list a few of the brands that I have tried recently. I also like that most of these products are for all hair types.

Also, I wanted to share what I read a while back.. the key ingredient in most shampoos is Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, this ingredient is pretty hard on most curly hair. Due to this ingredient it is smart for us not to wash our hair that often or go to an alternative of dry shampoos or washing your hair sometimes with certain conditioners in between shampoo washes. This will also help keep the frizz at bay and help with any dryness!

Love it! Found it on the internet!
What would you recommend for hair?
