Review: L'OREAL Micellar Cleansing Water

I've always wanted to try micellar water but always thought it wasn't really needed in my routine. I have read and heard about other brands and stumbled upon the *New* -well now, kinda new- L'OREAL Micellar Cleansing Water at CVS. It's an under $10 investment, so I gave it a try!

I soaked a cotton round in the water and held it over my mascara, eyeliner and eye shadow covered eyes. I gently rubbed the cotton round over my eyes and to my surprise it worked. I then did the rest of my face and my skin felt hydrated, smooth and clean as advertised.

This magic water also comes a water proof formula to remove stubborn makeup but I have not tried that one yet. I like that the product is free of oil, soap and alcohol. I also like that it does not burn my eyes, I have that issue with makeup wipes. Using this water also made my skin feel way more cleaner than using a makeup wipe.

I do wish that it had one of those push down dispensers to control the product more but not a big deal.

Overall, I would repurchase this item again!

IT Cosmetics CC Cream vs. Neutrogena Healthy Skin Anti-Aging Perfector

I am a fan of the IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC cream ($38.00). I like the packaging, the lemony scent, SPF and the coverage of the formula. I was very intrigued when I stumbled upon an item that appeared to be a drugstore version by Neutrogena for under $10.00.

The Neutrogena tube has less product but the size is at a good price point. I noticed immediately that it also had more of a mousse like texture and it was a lighter formula overall.

Neutrogena was swatched first (left) in Light to Neutral and IT Cosmetics in Medium, their most popular shade (right).

IT Cosmetics has a medium to full coverage, if you prefer this, you will not like the Neutrogena coverage as it is more sheer. It's not that buildable but I actually like it as it let's your face breathe more. The only negative is the scent for me, while IT Cosmetics has a lemony scent I adore, Neutrogena really falls short with more of a sunscreen scent.

Bottom line, if you want more coverage go with IT Cosmetics, if you want an everyday light coverage, go with Neutrogena, I am happy with both overall and you cannot beat grabbing this at Target for under $10 to give it a try.

Also, I find that using a flat top, dense brush and a bouncy/patting motion works best with the Neutrogena formula If you try to swirl the brush over your face, it is streaky since the formula is thinner/mousse like. A beauty blender works best with IT Cosmetics so it applies evenly and not so heavy.

Pixi By Petra Glow Tonic | Hot or Not?

Hi all! I wanted to share my review on the Pixi By Petra Glow Tonic I purchased from Target. I have heard so many great things about how the product really made the skin glow and it worked wonders to get the leftover residue off of your face after you cleansed it.

I was excited to try it to see if the results would be better than my regular toner that I am happy with. I used the product a few times to test it out. I also used a cotton pad to swipe my face with the liquid.

Unfortunately, I really dislike the product and even returned it. I rarely return items but this was that bad. I do not have sensitive skin and this pretty much dried out my face and made it sensitive. It's been almost a month and I am still trying to fully heal my forehead. I know products like this have a "purging" period but this was just all around bad in my personal opinion. I have combo skin and have pretty much tried a similar product from Sephora that did not leave my face feeling really dry and sensitive. I had to purchase a stronger moisturizer to heal my skin.

I know lots of people love this product but I wanted to share my experience. If you want to try it out, I suggest testing an area first to see how your skin reacts to it.

I hope you found this review helpful!
